Tube test for photometric water analysis
The tube test NANOCOLOR Permanganate Index 10 allows you to reliably determine the permanganate index of your water samples – an important sum parameter for assessing water quality.
Measuring range: 0.5–10 mg/L O₂
How it works:
Organic contaminants in the water are oxidized by potassium permanganate under heat. The consumption of potassium permanganate is then evaluated photometrically. The more permanganate is consumed, the higher the organic contamination of the sample – a clear indicator of water quality.
Your advantages at a glance
- Easy handling – Pre-dosed reagents in practical round cuvettes, no decanting necessary.
- Maximum safety – Minimized chemical consumption and safe dosing.
- Precise results – Perfectly matched to NANOCOLOR photometers with automatic test recognition via barcode.
- Time saving – Fast and standard-compliant measurement, ideal for routine analyses and self-monitoring.
Why is the permanganate index important?
It is one of the oldest and most proven parameters for characterizing organic substances in water. Especially for drinking water and slightly contaminated raw water, it is a quick indicator of organic pollution and thus of water quality.
Typical applications:
- Drinking water analysis
- Self-monitoring in waterworks
- Environmental monitoring
