Due to their wide range of application as additives e.g. in textiles, PFAS do not only end up in water bodies but also in sediments or also into the food chain. Therefore, monitoring is important.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are used for many daily applications e.g. food packaging and textile coating because of their non-sticky properties. But most PFAS are hazardous substances which need to be monitored globally.
