Optimal headspace vials - new variants of screw neck vials N 18

Due to the difficulties and inconveniences with crimping hard magnetic caps tightly, the market asked for a safe and more easy to use solution. Aside from the range of crimp neck vials for the CTC and their appropriate magnetic crimp closures, screw neck vials N 18 with a precision thread were introduced. They have a more convenient, consistent, and safer sealing process compared to crimping (better reproducibility). With their introduction the risk of inaccurate or inconsistent crimp results has been elliminated ensuring a safe run in the autosampler and reliable analysis results. Furthermore endusers save the costs for additional crimping tools. The non-standardized precision thread design with the increased number of threads achieves a firm contact pressure of the septa with the glass rim of the vial even under internal vial pressure (tightness). The thinner septum (1.5 mm instead of 3 mm with crimp caps) guarantees a safe penetration of the needle and less fragmentation which is especially important for SPME applications. The screw caps offer an always flat surface for the magnet; so that the filled vial cannot drop from the magnet (in case of over-crimped vials, this may happen due to the convexity of the cap).

MN now has now expanded the product line of their screw neck vials N 18 for headspace analysis by an amber 10 mL version (MN REF 702866.2) and a 20 mL one with writing patch (MN REF 702826.0). We offer open top as well as closed top magnetic screw closures N 18 with a broad variety of septa materials. Please note that all these screw neck vial N 18 cannot be used in combination with PP screw closure 702115 or any other plastic screw closures with 18-400 thread design.
