Filtration

When do you need to include the filtration step?

The filtration step is necessary to clear your lysate. Lysate filtration is a very efficient way to purify your nucleic acid from larger particles that might clog the binding column.  Materials that may need lysate clearing are: whole blood, plant material or microbiome samples. Using a vacuum manifold the tedious, time and cost intense centrifugation process can be easily replaced.

For processing 8-well strips under vacuum, the Starter Set A, containing Column Holders A and NucleoSpin Dummy Strips is required. For automation on laboratory platforms with standard 96-well plate manifolds, the use of Starter Set A is also required.
