MN Bead Tube Type G
Traditionally plant samples are homogenized using mortar and pistil. However, the 5 mm steel beads (MN Bead Tubes Type G) offer a valid and robust homogenization method for fresh and frozen samples.

Sample processing recommendations
In order to obtain optimal yields of DNA from sample material, a complete disruption of the sample material is necessary. Sample disruption efficiency depends on the parameters such as type of bead tube or bead plate, time and frequency and also the disruption device. Please find below our suggested recommendations for the MN Bead Tubes Type G in combination with different nucleic acid purification kits.
MN Bead Tube Holder in combination with a Vortex-Genie 2
MN Bead Tubes Type G are not recommended with Vortex Genie 2 because disruption efficiency is low with this Bead Tubes on this device.
Sample processing recommendation using a RETSCH Mixer Mill
An alternative in sample disruption of biological materials are bead beating mills. MN Bead Tubes (with the exception of MN Bead Tubes Type F) can be combined with most disruption devices. Please find below the recommendation for MN Bead Tubes Type G in combination with different purification kits and the RETSCH Mixer Mill.
