PORAFIL TE membranes of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) are particularly suited for aggressive media, since they are chemically inert towards aqueous and organic solutions as well as towards concentrated acids and bases. These membranes are hydrophobic, thus the pressure for filtration of aqueous solutions has to be higher than the breakthrough pressure. PORAFIL TE membranes can be used at temperatures up to 145 °C.
