MN Bead Tube Type B

Cultured microorganisms such as bacteria are complex samples that often require mechanical homogenization to ensure a complete lysis. Our MN Bead Tubes Type B include glass beads in a mixture of sizes (40 - 400 um) and are an efficient tool for effective homogenization of cultured bacterial samples.

Sample processing recommendations

In order to obtain optimal DNA yields from sample materials, a complete disruption of the sample is necessary. Sample disruption efficiency depends on several parameters such as the type of bead tube or plate, time and frequency of disruption, and also the disruption device. Please see below for our suggested recommendations for implementing the MN Bead Tubes Type B with various nucleic acid purification kits:

MN Bead Tube Holder in combination with a Vortex-Genie 2

Sample disruption using the MN Bead Tube Holder is a very straight forward and easy method to homogenize your sample. The MN Bead Tube Holder is available for 2 ml and 5 ml bead tubes.

Sample processing recommendation using a RETSCH Mixer Mill

MN Bead Tubes (with the exception of MN Bead Tubes Type F) can be combined with most disruption devices. Please find below the recommendation for MN Bead Tubes Type B in combination with different purification kits and the RETSCH Mixer Mill. Click here to find our latest Application Note for MN Bead Tubes and the RETSCH Mixer Mill.
