MN Bead Tubes Type A (DNA and nuclease free)

Microbiome samples are complex and require a very thorough lysis procedure. We recommend mechanical homogenization with ceramic bead based materials to achieve unbiased results for microbiome studies.

Sample processing recommendations

In order to obtain optimal yields of DNA from sample material, a complete disruption of the sample material is necessary. Sample disruption efficiency depends on the parameters such as type of bead tube or bead plate, time and frequency and also the disruption device. Please find below our suggested recommendations for the MN Bead Tubes Type A in combination with different nucleic acid purification kits.

MN Bead Tube Holder in combination with a Vortex-Genie 2

Sample disruption using the MN Bead Tube Holder is a very straight forward and easy method to homogenize your sample. The MN Bead Tube Holder is available for 2 ml and 5 ml bead tubes.

Sample processing recommendation using a RETSCH Mixer Mill

An alternative in sample disruption of biological materials are bead beating mills. MN Bead Tubes (with the exception of MN Bead Tubes Type F) can be combined with most disruption devices. Please find below the recommendation for MN Bead Tubes Type A incombination with different purification kits and the RETSCH Mixer Mill. Click here to find our latest Application Note for MN Bead Tubes and the Retsch Mixer Mill.
