MACHEREY-NAGEL kits for microbiome research

Environmental science is shaped by the complex interactions between biological, chemical, and physical components of natural ecosystems. Soil, water, sediment, and air contain diverse communities of microorganisms and environmental DNA (eDNA) that serve as important indicators of a functional ecosystem as well as importnat tools for monitoring environmental change. Understanding the composition and diversity of a microbial community is the first step in understanding the microbiome and reliable and efficient nucleic acid extraction kits.

Our extraction kits enable the rapid purification of high-quality DNA and RNA from a broad range of environmental samples across all our technologies NucleoSpin, NucleoMag and NucleoBond. Our kits enable efficient and inhibitor-free purification from a variety of complex sample matrices including soils, sediment, wastewater, biofilms, and biological samples such as stool or plant tissue matter. We offer both magnetic bead-based and silica-based and anion-exchange-based technologies to achieve high yields of DNA and RNA suitable for downstream applications such as PCR, qPCR, next-generation sequencing and metagenomics. Designed to handle inhibitor-rich samples our kits are established on effective lysis methods as well as an efficient removal of contaminants and common inhibitors. Compatibility with mechanical disruption techniques ensure a complete sample preparation and thus robust results. These solutions are ideal for environmental research and projects focused on detecting and monitoring microorganisms or species in diverse environmental samples.
