Photometric determination of phosphate

Photometric determination as molybdenum blue after acidic hydrolyses and oxidation at 100-120°C.

Ammonium molybdate reacts with orthophosphate ions to form phosphomolybdic acid. This is reduced to molybdenum blue.

Reaction basis analog to DIN EN ISO 6878-D11.
